As a community group, the Archives relies on volunteers and hold regular working bees. We’d love to see you there – check out our information about volunteering. And if you’d like to become a member, click here.

The Archives collects and preserves the records and artifacts of gay and lesbian life in all their rich variety – papers and magazines, t-shirts, posters, photographs, badges, leaflets, flyers, community groups’ records (minutes and correspondence), etc.

If you’ve got it, chances are we want it. Don’t assume that we already have what you don’t want. Contact us; ask; you might be surprised!

Our collection policy (pdf) explains the kinds of material we look for. And if you’re clearing out old magazines, we have a list of gaps in our periodicals collection (pdf) that you might be able to fill.

We also encourage those with recollections of days before the lesbian and gay movement to record them for posterity through the Archives’ Oral History Project. Requests for confidentiality are strictly adhered to.
