ALGA actively acquires material documenting Australian lesbian, gay, trans, bisexual, intersex, sistergirl and brotherboy experience. Documentation may include archive, library, museum and gallery material, such as:
- Organisational records and personal papers
- Printed publications (books, magazines, etc.)
- Audio recordings (oral history interviews, radio programs etc.)
- Audio-visual recordings (home movies, master footage, etc.)
- Textiles (t-shirts, banners, etc.)
- Photographs (prints, negatives, digital images, etc.)
- Ephemera (posters, flyers, brochures etc.)
- Objects (awards, medals, commemorative items, etc.)
- Artworks
If you would like to donate material, we would encourage you to check our collection listings to and contact us in advance of sending material. Our collection policy provides the Archives with a broad framework for the collecting of Australian and non-Australian materials.
